50 years an airfield

At 16:10 on 17th August 1975, Ted Gardner landed at Popham in a Piper Cub.


In 2025, the aircraft is still airworthy, as is Ted who flies almost every day as one of Popham's oldest members.

Celebrate with us

Tickets

You do not need a ticket in advance of the event - simply arrive by air or land and enjoy the celebrations! If you'd like to eat with us, the BBQ will start at midday, and we will also be running a raffle to win some awesome aircraft-related items.

We will be holding a raffle on the day - a strip of tickets will cost £1 and the prizes on offer will be available to view.

Popham Airfield is not licensed to sell alcohol on the premises but you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages with you to the party.
